How to Play
You'll choose ingredients for each potion you want to make. The ingredients impact the chance of success or failure during brewing, and how much you get paid for the final potion.
- Choose the potion recipe you want to make. Each recipe calls for certain types of ingredients - add them by clicking on them.
- Each ingredient has a cost and also three symbols. Those symbols populate three slot reels that are rolled randomly after the potion is brewed, which takes some time.
- Choose your ingredients wisely. When the slots are rolled, more stars means a more valuable potion - but if you land on three X's, your potion explodes and you get nothing!
- Try out different potions and see how much money you can make. Can you can manage to make at least one of each potion at each level of stars?

Cheese is completely OP, 0 star fondue is one of the hardest thing to get.

Came back to this from Broomstick Post! And since I finished this once already, decided to try and see if I could lose. ... This makes me feel very good about Lizzie's business prospects, because wow, is it *hard* to lose. Lizzie would have to be down to 5 silver or 0 silver, and with 100 as the starting amount, the amount of luck needed to fail is extremely high.
The potions with the worst chances are the Cheapest, worst configured versions of anything needing Dream, at 4/9 chance of failure, due to allowing Nightmare.
Yep, I had to bet on failure of the amazingly unbusiness choice of Green Slime Cilantro Nightmare Potion of Lesser Healing in order to take Lizzie from 15 to a unwinnable 5 Silver.
Where the choice for not losing would've been to spend my last 10 silver on the guaranteed success Water Blue Slime x2 Slime Potion.
super fun! i like that theres a guaranteed profit for the last one, so once you hit it, you can focus on completing the rest of the potions :D

A few recipes I made:
Vinegar, Purple slime, Red slime
Owl feather, Daffodil, 9th Life
Orchid, Hemlock, Tincture of boredom
Vinegar, Pepperjack, Pepperjack
idk about these previous recipes but purple slime, brainstorm, and dragon scale has been great
Cute! Very purple! Wish that Potion of Lesser Healing's description could be shrunk to 2 lines to match every potion-else! OH! It's affected by Zoom! Hmm. Might just be a Firefox thing or something.
Interesting. Only the best Potions of Game Development are worth anything other than 200 Silver?

Thanks for the notes. I didn't see anything off with the Potion of Lesser Healing's description or instructions on a couple different browsers myself, hopefully it's okay if you're at 100% zoom. I won't fix the typo unless I have to make any other changes but I appreciate you catching it, always good to know.
And yeah, we wanted to mix things up with the Potion of Game Development.What's the point of making a game if you can't make it perfect, right? 😉

nvm, I restarted the game. It just says I've mastered every potion
i made a slime potion that always garentees a small profit while being incredibly cheap
made with green slime, green slime, and water
I made a potion of greater healing that guarantees profit, costs 80, minimum profit of 80
made with red slime, pepperjack, and tincture of boredom
good game but grindy.
Please implement a save system I had gotten all potions other than a 2-star magnificent potion but I have lost all my progress

potion of greater healing with red slime, pepperjack, and essence of love is just broken. its guaranteed profit. good game though.
i would say potion of invisibility with purple slime brainstorm and dragon scale works better because you will always get the money spent making it back and have a 2 out of 3 chance of getting an extra 280 as well
Always happy when I see the notification that Celia and Rose released a new game! Another fun one, played once (sort of) for my channel and a few times on my own. I like that there's potions that as long as it can't X out, you will always make just a little coin for your time on it and have the chance to make more. Not only that but there's even stages of it so once you have more coin available you can sort of farm higher level potions safely as well. Very fun title! Good luck with the contest!

We just updated the game so potions are even riskier than before, to make your gambling that much more exciting! (And also fixed the bug where an incorrect price was showing on the exploded potions...)

Wow, nice! Rose and I were talking about doing all those calculations ourselves to make sure we had balanced the prices in the game, but we ran out of time during the jam to sit down and do it! It's awesome that you did.
For anyone reading this now, we just updated the game with better balanced ingredients and prices, so you'll have to do your own calculations and not rely on spidamoo's. :)
